Hunger On!

Futuristic. Primal. Epic.  The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins bore it all.  Being my first venture into a dystopian series, this one had me up reading throughout the night.  Sixteen year old Katniss Everdeen is this generations warrior princess.  Headstrong yet resilient, she’s the girl who proves that money and brawn can’t give you heart.  At times the brutality depicted in the book might be harsh for the soft natured. But it paints a thought-provoking “what if” look into a government and society gone wrong and the dire state that our children could be easily thrust into.  Fighting without even understanding what they are fighting for.  Their lives a game of  chance.  A good read for those who love a thrilling page turner that’ll pull you into Suzanne Collins literary masterpiece.
